Situation
The Turkish Government announced plans to sell Telsim’s assets through an auction in early 2005
One of the region’s largest telecom service providers is interested in entering the Turkish market and bidding for Telsim’s assets and required assistance in assessing Telsim’s assets
Key Issues
Multiple requirements were identified to complete the due diligence:
Commercial due diligence with proper growth forecasts
Regulatory due diligence, in particular regarding the transfer process and competition issues
Current and future Opex and Capex
Identify and quantify commercial value drivers
Connexus Contribution
Reviewed and analyzed available documentation in the bid data-room
Reviewed benchmarks to complement the commercial due diligence efforts
Participated in building a business model with forecasts for the Turkish telecommunications market
Advised on the regulatory environment in Turkey and provided strategic input to the due diligence accordingly
Provided continuous support to the bidder’s financial advisors
Connexus Consulting bid jointly with Ovum consulting and carried out the project in partnership
